Full Job Description

We are looking for a CDL truck driver with a minimum for 3 years" experience to serve our logistics department in a safe and timely manner. Magaw Trucking, LLC based in Daytona Beach, FL is truly a family business. Our owners have 20 + years" experience in OTR as well as mechanical. In addition to owning Magaw Trucking, they own and operate a full Truck and Trailer Repair center in Daytona Beach as well. They believe in caring for not only our drivers, but their families as well. We talk to each of our drivers each day and work hard to prove that they are a part of our family. We are looking to employ a hard-working and experienced OTR Driver to transport freight between various locations across the country (NO NYC or California).

Responsibilities

Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers

Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance

Plan routes and meet delivery schedules

Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts

Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures

Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions

Collect and verify delivery instructions

Report defects, accidents or violations

Maintaining the company truck, which includes washing and cleaning it, monitoring tire
pressure, and arranging with our shop mechanic for oil changes and any other repairs as needed

Notifying the dispatcher and customer of any delay that may affect scheduled delivery times

Skills

Proven work experience as a truck driver (minimum 3 years)

Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, ELD, CB etc)

Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly

Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations

No recent at fault accident (5 years)

No Major Tickets in last 3 years

Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)

Valid CDL A license

Valid Medical Card

Maintaining CDL License and Health card in accordance with DOT regulations

Maintaining a clean driving record both on and off duty.

Must Pass Urine Drug Test

Minimum 25 years of age or older for insurability purposes

Ability to drive both manual and automatic transmission

Both Dry Van & Reefer experience

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Job Type: Full-time (1099)

Salary: Drivers are paid 25% of each load total

Paid Weekly

Pay for: Layovers, Breakdowns, Detention, Extra stops, Clean Inspections & Vacation
