Berkley Technology Services: Right Team, Right Technology, Simple and Secure.  

Joining Berkley Technology Services (BTS)’ UWM Triage team as an Intern places you in a role where you’ll be working with, supporting, and testing applications central to our business operations. The PolicyCenter and BillingCenter platform is BTS’ largest technical program effort and is a platform utilized by multiple business units to manage and support new and existing insurance policy types and transactions. You’ll also work with and learn about additional proprietary and third-party applications and the underlying technical environments that they integrate with and sit atop, including those used to support insurance agent profile management and print services. The variety of applications and technologies that you’ll gain exposure to on our team ensures innumerable learning opportunities, both of our business and the technologies that drive it.

 

As our Intern, you could be involved in:

• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues that arise across our application suite and related API services
• Research server logs to quickly identify the root cause of any application issues, notifying and collaborating with business analysis, engineering, development, and/or vendor support teams as needed to ensure swift issue resolution
• Assist in recreating production issues in a non-production environment to support process improvements and updates to our technical support documentation
• Analyze our data reports and help identify trends that may lead to development updates and/or support process enhancements
• Organize and update online help guides housed on Confluence, MS Teams, and SharePoint for the applications we support and the tools utilized by our business analysts to introduce configuration changes for these platforms
• Perform user administrative functions as needed in our Policy and Billing application suite

• Registered undergraduate student pursuing a major in an IT-related degree with a preferred overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• At least two years of college or university coursework completed, preferably in an operations research, management information systems, software development, or related, discipline
• Prior related co-op, internship, and/or on or off-campus technical experience preferred but not required
• A general understanding of database management systems is a plus
• Experience writing and/or editing SQL queries a strong plus
• Exposure to Jira, ServiceNow and/or similar test management systems a plus
• A base understanding of software and hardware integrations as part of technical issue resolution processes a plus
