Trailer Service Technician

Job description

Spee-Dee Delivery is looking for an individual who is responsible for servicing and maintaining our fleet trailers that are operated on a daily basis.

Hours and Wages:

• Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM
• Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
• Starting wage: $20.00-$33.00 per hour, based on experience

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ability to inspect trailers for compliance
• Ability to service ABS brakes
• Knowledge of drum and disc brake systems is preferred
• Knowledge of trailer wiring, lighting, greasing, brakes, and lift gate is preferred
• General maintenance on fleet trailers
• Other duties as assigned

Experience and Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Two years technical instruction in auto or diesel mechanics is preferred
• Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle or be willing to learn
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and 100 pounds occasionally
• Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
• Must be able to spend a minimum of eight hours on feet
• Work environment involves ability to bend, kneel, crouch, walk and drive
• Work environment may involve hazards such as diesel exhaust, brake dust, grease, antifreeze, and other elements associated with vehicle repair
