Visit Greater Lima, the esteemed Convention & Visitors Bureau nestled in downtown Lima, Ohio, is embarking on a quest for its next long-term Executive Director, as our current visionary leader is set to retire. As the Executive Director, you will be the driving force behind our mission to enhance tourism, foster community partnerships, and elevate the Lima/Allen County experience. **Note: Applications must be received by Tuesday, March 5, 2024. Responsibilities: • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans to boost tourism and enhance the region's visibility. • Team Collaboration : Lead, inspire, and collaborate with a talented team to achieve shared goals and objectives. Work under a Board of Directors by hosting regular monthly meetings, developing agendas, providing reports, and maintaining relationships. • Community Engagement: Establish and nurture strong relationships with elected officials, local businesses, organizations, partners, and stakeholders to promote tourism and economic growth. Represent the organization and local tourism industry as a spokesperson by managing media interviews, public speaking engagements, and addressing various organizations regarding matters concerning tourism. • Marketing and Promotion : Oversee marketing initiatives, campaigns, and events to position Lima/Allen County as a must-visit destination. This includes working closely with the Tourism Marketing Manager by directing the design and strategic placement of all advertising and marketing materials.  • A comprehensive overview of the job responsibilities will be furnished during the interview process. Qualifications: • Proven executive leadership experience, preferably in the tourism or hospitality industry. • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university preferred with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of marketing, business administration, interpersonal & public communication, journalism, public administration, non-profit administration, or tourism • Strong strategic planning, marketing, communication, and organizational skills. • Passion for promoting tourism and contributing to community growth. • Thorough knowledge of Allen County’s communities, tourism assets and current events • Financial expertise in designing operating budgets, collaborating with accountants on A/P and A/R, taxes, audits, etc.; fiscal oversight including monthly accounting transactions and balancing ledgers. Skilled in monitoring ongoing income and expenditures to meet organizational needs within budget limits • Management experience in payroll and HR duties including benefits administration.
