Summary
Large ($100m+), growing home improvement company seeks a dynamic and experienced Accounting Manager to help lead the company's Accounting Department. This is a working position, with direct responsibilities in critical accounting functions, including preparation of financial statements, as well as direct supervision of a staff of 20. This is a high volume, fast-paced, deadline-driven atmosphere.
Responsibilities:
- ∙ Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to; accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, taxes, and HR functions.
- ∙ Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
- ∙ Oversee monthly reconciliations for all cash accounts, and key vendor statements.
- ∙ Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.
- ∙ Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements.
- ∙ Oversee all policies and procedures concerning HR functions, new hires, terms, employee benefit administration for both employees and subcontractors.
- ∙ Work with external CPA firm to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end and tax return preparation.
Qualifications:
- ∙ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA or MBA preferred.
- ∙ 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it being in a supervisory role.
- ∙ Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- ∙ Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization.
- ∙ Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
- ∙ Knowledge of employee relationship building and performance management techniques.
- ∙ Proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- ∙ Advanced experience with accounting and bookkeeping software, Sage Intacct software preferred.
- ∙ Excellent organization and efficient time-management skills.
This position reports to the executive team. Excellent compensation ($80k+ annually) with strong benefit program.
