Job Description:
Position Overview:
The Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the enterprise vision, strategy, and program to ensure information assets and technologies are adequately protected. The CISO will lead and collaborate closely with other departments to identify, evaluate, and mitigate security risks.
Desires:
CISO Experience in a Highly Regulated Industry such as Banking/Financial, petroleum/gas or Energy. Experience as a CISO within the Business Development and strategic planning and risk analyzing, with experience in Implementing the proposed solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy aligned with business objectives and industry best practices. This Company is Modernizing many processes, systems, and software. As part of this modernizing the role of the CISO will be to investigate, evaluate and implements plans on ensuring the protection of information.
Risk Management: Assess and prioritize security risks, vulnerabilities, and threats to the organization's information assets and develop risk mitigation strategies.
Security Governance: Establish and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Security Operations: Oversee the operation and continuous improvement of security controls, incident response procedures, and security monitoring systems.
Security Awareness: Promote a culture of security awareness and education throughout the organization, ensuring all employees understand their roles and responsibilities in safeguarding information assets.
Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with third-party vendors and partners to ensure the security of outsourced systems and services.
Compliance and Auditing: Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and compliance reviews to identify gaps and ensure adherence to security policies and regulatory requirements.
Security Architecture: Collaborate with the VP of IT and business stakeholders to design and implement secure systems and solutions that align with business needs and industry standards.
Incident Response: Lead the response to cybersecurity incidents, including investigation, containment, remediation, and post-incident analysis.
Qualifications:
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or other relevant certifications preferred but not required.
Proven experience of at least 5 years in a senior leadership role in cybersecurity, with a track record of developing and implementing effective security strategies and programs.
Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and best practices, including but not limited to network security, endpoint protection, encryption, identity and access management, and security incident response.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex cybersecurity concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong leadership and team-building skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
