Job description
Seeking a talented Quality Engineer who is familiar with ISO9001, AS9102, and AS9100 standards and wants a role with high visibility and autonomy. This person will maintain quality compliance for assigned programs and customers from product design through manufacturing and product support. In addition to working directly with customers, the Quality Engineer collaborates cross-functionally and provides solutions on a variety of internal projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Serve as primary quality contact for assigned programs, customers, and products. Evaluate and investigate customer concerns and act to promptly address and correct issues and respond to customer quality data/information requests in a timely manner.
- Develop, submit, and track requests for deviations/waivers stemming from nonconforming material.
- Review quotes and new P.O. contracts for quality requirements. Provide necessary feedback to internal departments ensuring that quality requirements are disseminated to affected departments.
- Review customer supplied quality ratings and report to management. Analyze data and take appropriate corrective action to address negative trends with minimal supervision. Coordinate and sponsor customer driven continuous improvement programs.
- Document, coordinate, and execute customer delegated supplier quality requirements. Prepare unique program quality plans as needed per contractual requirements.
- Lead internal root cause and corrective actions stemming from customer related issues. Provide appropriate corrective action/progress updates to customers. Attain Designated Quality Representative (DQR) status with customers.
- Perform compliance audits to customer requirements as defined on current P.O’s, document audit results, and coordinate required corrective actions. Perform assessments and internal audits on personnel, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance with specifications, procedures, and industry standards. Review and approve new and/or revised Operator Plans.
- Develop Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation for new and existing programs (MSA, Capability Studies, etc.). Provide day-to-day technical assistance to personnel inspecting and testing products.
- Audit suppliers, monitor supplier performance, and work with suppliers to improve when needed.
- Make Quality Management System related recommendations for process improvements to reduce project risks.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality or other related field, or 5+ years of progressive experience in a comparable capacity required.
- Solid working knowledge of ISO9001, AS9102, and AS9100 standards.
- Advanced knowledge of GD&T and proficient in process control tools and formal systematic approaches to corrective action methodologies.
- American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Engineer and/or Lean or Six Sigma certifications a plus.
- Strong MS Office (Excel) skills, MRP/ERP Experience.
- Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Able to communicate effectively with other personnel.
- US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required.
