Profile

We are recruiting an outstanding Psychiatrist to join our Interventional Psychiatry Service. This service treats a diverse patient population, most of whom are referred from within the UT Southwestern hospital and clinic system.

The attending Psychiatrist will perform evaluations and treatment of patients with treatment resistant mental disorders using advanced treatments such as pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), ketamine intra nasal and intra venous therapy, magnetic seizure therapy (MST), electro convulsive therapy (ECT), deep brain stimulation (DBS), vagus nerve stimulation (VNS), as well as other advanced applications of brain stimulation interventions. While experience is a plus, the position is open for interested candidates who have a strong interest in developing in this area. There is potential that this role will also include some inpatient work. The attending Psychiatrist will also be responsible for teaching and supervision of psychiatry residents, medical students, and other trainees.

Eligible candidates must hold an M.D. or D.O., with board eligibility or board certification in General Psychiatry. While Texas licensure is not required for consideration or selection, it is a pre-requisite for starting in the position. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated interest in pursuing an academic career. Academic experience and a strong track record of clinical teaching is a plus.  Additional training or fellowship in a specialty is a plus. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule.
