Job Summary

This position involves working as a field engineer within PSE&G’s Gas Operations organization, utilizing a broad knowledge of business and engineering principles and practices acquired through progressive experience. This position supports the delivery of safe and reliable natural gas to customers within the territory by analyzing business results and resource allocation, collaborating on corrective actions, and preparing plans for effective operations. In addition, this position performs engineering and/or project work and provides technical assistance through the application of engineering/business knowledge. This position may be assigned to report to various Gas District Headquarters and other company locations. 

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Manage function of day-to-day operations within a gas district through effective teamwork with district manager and supervisory team. Review workload analytics, timesheets, and other data to ensure productivity and compliance. Analyze performance records to ensure proper productivity and quality of work. Drive process improvement by participating in Gas, Utility and company-wide initiatives. Participate in district, regional and other meetings to represent Gas Operations. Support safe work practices, participate in Safety meetings; reinforce corporate messages and practices. Coordinate annual district workload, monitor budget/manpower requirements, implement controls as required. Perform engineering and/or project work and provide technical assistance through the application of engineering/business knowledge. Ensure regulatory compliance and be familiar with applicable internal and external standards, state and federal codes. Administer Company/Union labor agreement in accordance with Company policy.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required:
B.S. Engineering degree - Mechanical/Industrial/Civil
Minimum of 3-4 years experience
Work with others at various supervisory and management levels. 
Must possess a valid US driver’s license, this position requires driving to company locations
Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
Possess leadership skills, professionalism and customer/client focus
Must have effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, strong planning and organizing skills, must be adaptable and results-oriented.
Must have strong written and verbal communications skills
Must demonstrate and value differences in others' strengths, perspectives, approaches, and personal choices.
Strong computer skills in MS Office applications
Must be willing to work OT as required and perform on-call / emergency support as needed.
Desired
A Master's Degree in Engineering, MBA or PE License
Familiarity with gas utility best practices, Federal, NJ Administrative, and ASME pressure piping codes and Company tariff. 
Experience with gas utility facilities e.g. pipelines, regulators, meters.
