OVERVIEW Supports the Retail Planning & Design Team in various store design projects including: current & future prototype building designs, remodels, refreshes, and store rollout programs. Supports the brand vision & provides customer-driven design solutions and brand integrity to drive business objectives. Works collaboratively with Environment & Graphic Designs, Marketing, Operations, Architects & Engineers to take design concepts from visionary to executable & scalable outcomes. RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned) 1. Support the design of interior & exterior retail design projects. Includes but not be limited to: Design Intent Documentation (DID) & Schematic Design Documentation, retail space planning, rendered elevations, design development of fixtures, millwork and signage, customer journey maps, shop drawing reviews, CD reviews, design consultation, equipment & merchandising layouts, kitchen and back of house layouts, ADA and life safety compliant design 2. Develop schematic design floorplans & design intent documentation for store projects under the leadership of the Retail Planning Design Supervisor. Advocate for design integrity and accuracy throughout the lifecycle of the project, including DD/CD review, shop drawings reviews and construction. 3. Work in partnership with in-house stakeholders & coordinate project driving alignments with cross-functional partners. Partners include - Design teams, Sales & Marketing, Store Ops, Architecture & Engineering, Store Support, Real Estate & Permitting, Procurement & Sourcing, Construction, & Project Management. 4. Provide design support to execution teams to ensure brand right and consistent execution to go-back projects, pilots and rollouts. 5. Support best-in-class merchandising to Sheetz Sales and Marketing team, assisting in the development of new merchandising solutions, fixtures, & product placement with the Retail Planning Design Supervisor. 6. Develop presentations to convey design solutions for cross-functional team collaboration and executive leadership approvals. 7. Create visual positioning boards on assigned projects. 8. Effectively plan, manage, balance, prioritize & execute upon multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. 9. Organize work and maintain digital project folder, proactively locate information and seek answers needed to complete work. QUALIFICATIONS Education Bachelors degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field required Experience - Minimum 3 years full-time experience in designing retail or hospitality environments required.
- Minimum 3 years knowledge of AutoCAD required.
- Knowledge of retail interiors & exteriors, and demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge in innovative ways that elevate brand excellence preferred.
- Solid understanding of customer journey & understands how to execute solutions through this lens required
- Experience in collaborating with cross-functional partners & key stakeholders including architects, marketing, real estate, category leads, procurement, vendors & construction teams preferred
- Experience creating presentations and presenting design concepts to peers, managers, clients required
- Understands space planning, basic ADA, human ergonomics, and applies this basic understanding to design solutions designing in scale & proportion required.
- Understands construction documents and implementation of design elements in CD sets required.
- Understands vendor shop drawings and has experience reviewing for design intent preferred.
