Position Summary:
The Assistant Director of Intake is accountable for directing the Assessment and Referral activities at the facility. As a clinician, this position provides direction to a staff of Assessment & Intake Counselors in the provision of psychiatric assessment services, including clinical evaluations, crisis intervention, and referrals. This position interfaces closely with the medical staff, fellow department heads and administration, treatment team/external case managers/managed care organizations, functions as a liaison with other hospital intake departments. Monitors and assures timely completion of the Core Measures (HBIPS) Abstraction Tool for all admissions.

Qualifications Education: Master's Degree from an accredited college or university, in Social Work, Nursing or a clinical related mental health field preferred.
Experience: A minimum of five (5) years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting desirable. Working knowledge of the Addiction & Recovery field and experience in clinical interviewing, patient assessment, family motivation, treatment planning, communicating with external review organizations or comparable entities, and working effectively with people of diverse backgrounds. Must have strong management skills with ability to effectively communicate with staff, ensuring proper employee performance management.
Licensure: LPC-Associate, LPC, LMSW, LCSW or RN license required.
Additional Requirements: CPR certification, Handle With Care and Verbal De-Escalation training within 30 days of employment prior to assisting in a restraining procedure. Must be able to pass a competency exam for the area upon hire. May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.
