The Product Design Intern will support teams in the development of specific projects and manage a small single category when needed. Assists teams to ensure the highest quality, consumer focused, trend-right product lines across licensing, to create innovative product that captures the spirit and storytelling of our beloved characters.
What You Will Do
Develop and design product mock-ups, gather images and layout creative presentations, and trend point of view boards
Collaborate with design manager to design and approve products
Build templates for design point of view boards for creative roll outs
Pull cross category product trends for Accessories such as Jewelry, Footwear, Headwear, Hosiery, Bags, Backpacks and Tech
Assist in pulling art direction and assets for collaborations
Monitor competitors, product innovation and market dynamics
Research Initial seasonal trends by category
Multi-task and prioritize multiple design projects within deadline
For Jewelry category only: occasional OPA support
Required Qualifications & Skills
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and MS Office
Knowledge in softlines categories (e.g., raw materials, plastic, textiles, print, pattern, graphic composition, manufacturing)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong product design skills (e.g., 3D product design, technical design, sketching, creative application and manipulation of art, final mechanical art, fabric and trim identification)
Entry level related experience
Education
Currently a Senior or recent graduate (within 6 months) pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, Product Design, Industrial Design, Fashion Design, or a related field

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
Be at least 18 years of age
Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
Possess unrestricted work authorization

Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
This internship is a hybrid position and requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace
The approximate dates of this internship are June 2024 through January 2025
Fully available from Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 6 PM Pacific Time Zone for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week
Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Glendale, CA area
Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
