Job Responsibilities

The Director of Philanthropic Events reports to the Vice President for Development and Executive Director of the TTC Foundation, and primary responsibilities include directing and managing event functions for the TTC Foundation and maintaining administrative functions relating to budget, donor relationships, sponsor securement, and event implementation to support strong donor cultivation, recruitment, and retention. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to developing and implementing strategies to ensure continued event success. Directs all event planning and logistics, budget development, and goal setting. Ensures successful execution of large-scale events. Creates a vision for building a vibrant, mission-aligned events strategy that leads to the introduction of new or revived signature events, resulting in increased revenue. Recommends changes to existing events and develops new events as appropriate. Develops and implements policies and procedures to support event management based on best practice/industry standards. Provides direct supervision to the Events Manager. Ensures the successful promotion and communication about events to internal and external audiences. Supports the TTC Foundation Executive Director as a liaison to the TTC Foundation Board.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

This position requires a high school diploma and relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required work experience. A bachelor's degree and three (3) years relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services; or an associate degree plus 5 years relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have experience in a collegiate setting. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint). Working knowledge of Raiser's Edge, Financial Edge, and Event is a plus. Gives software platform is highly preferred. Experience directing large-scale, high-level events is also preferred. Demonstrates excellent judgment in working with confidential information. The ability to think and work at both strategic and tactical levels and demonstrate a high degree of discretion. Must work well independently and in a team environment. The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously is a must. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and customer service skills are essential.
