TRUCK DRIVER - TACK
Job Description
Summary: Drive Tack Truck to dispense and distribute tack material for the Asphalt Paving crew. May assist other drivers and craft workers.
Essential Functions:
- Schedule pick up of tack load and delivery to job sites; secure all loads
- Communicate with Superintendent for Asphalt Tack needs and convenient downtimes for service schedules
- Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or repairs to supervisor; clean equipment
- Maintain a log on Tack Truck and report any damage to Supervisor
- Assist in the installation and maintenance of traffic control devices and flagging, when necessary
- Perform all duties in conformance with appropriate safety and security standards
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
- Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida CDL license (class A with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements preferred).
- Must have CDL license for at least two years with experience driving various transport trucks
- Ability to maintain and operate a dump or truck
- High School Diploma, GED, Trade School, or the equivalent preferred
- Reliability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
- Safety-minded
- Ability to work under strenuous conditions
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time, and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
