BLANK AST 2 (L&S Dean's Office Receptionist) Department Description
The Dean's Office has overall responsibility for the leadership, management and administration of the College of Letters and Sciences. The College of Letters and Science is the largest and most comprehensive academic unit on the Davis campus as measured by numbers of faculty, students and breadth and number of academic programs. The College has over 600 Senate faculty and more than 200 non-Senate faculty, and 400 Academic Federation and other research positions spanning the humanities, arts, cultural studies, social sciences, mathematical sciences and physical sciences. The College accounts for nearly 13,000 undergraduate majors (43% of the campus total), more than 4,000 degrees awarded (over 50%), approximately 750,000 student credit hours annually (64% of the campus) and 53 major degree programs. The College has 1,600 students pursuing graduate degrees. The College has annual budget significantly in excess of $250 million.
Job Summary
Under general supervision of the Business Operations Manager, the L&S Dean's Office Receptionist will support the daily operations at the front desk of the L&S Dean's Office as well as provide administrative and project support to the team members in the building.

- Experience working in high-traffic offices; strong customer services skills to effectively, thoroughly and politely assist office visitors.
- Experience using a variety of computer software such as word processing, spreadsheets, developing templates, and e-mail distribution lists (e.g. listservs). Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):
- Interpersonal communication skills to interact positively, cooperatively, and professionally with team members, administrators, staff, students, and the general public all of varying ages, cultural backgrounds and perspectives.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions, adapt to changing priorities, meet deadlines and maintain high productivity.
- Demonstrated judgement and initiative to identify potential problems, recommend solutions and implement work process improvements or streamline office operations and to resolve issues proactively.
- Must be able to lift/move up to 25 lbs. including packages and lightweight office furniture for meetings and events.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive project information. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):
- Knowledge of UC Davis University campus.
