Motion Sensor Characterization Engineer

Job description
- Collaborate with other researchers and engineers across both hardware and research teams to develop experiments, prototypes, and characterization methodologies for AR/VR systems
- Work with the team to help design, setup, and run practical experiments on motion sensors such as IMUs, pressure sensors, and magnetometers
- Own execution, interpretation, and reporting of sensor characterization results
- Define, architect, design, and drive implementation of scalable test infrastructure
- Support system bring up and debug activities
Minimum Qualifications - B.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related fields
- Experience with setup, management, and execution of sensor characterization equipment such as temperature chamber, vacuum chamber, shaker table, rate table, scanning laser vibrometer, bend and torsion tester, or similar equipment
- Years' hands-on laboratory experience with mechanical and electrical hardware bring-up and debug
- Demonstrated experience with gyroscopes, accelerometers, pressure sensor,s and/or magnetometer characterization and qualification
- Experience with statistical analysis using MATLAB, Python, or similar programming environments
- Demonstrated ability to generate high-quality test & characterization reports
Preferred Qualifications - Years' experience with scripting environments such as Python, MATLAB, or C/C++
- Years' experience in test software development using C/C++ or similar programming environments
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a highly cross-functional team environment
- Experience in testing and characterization of consumer electronics devices
- High levels of creativity and quick problem-solving skills
