Brown & Brown is seeking a Workers Comp Marketing Representative Trainee for our team in Garden City , New York .
The Workers' Comp Marketing Representative Trainee works under the Wright Public Entity division of Brown & Brown Insurance. This exciting role serves the New York State Municipal Workers' Compensation Alliance (Comp Alliance) program, which provides comprehensive workers' compensation coverage and services to municipalities and schools across New York State. The Workers' Comp Marketing Representative develops and maintains relationships with current and prospective Comp Alliance brokers, members, and consultants. The Workers' Comp Marketing Representative also meets with prospects and effectively communicates information about the added-value services offered through the Comp Alliance program.
Wright Risk Management LLC, a division of Brown & Brown, serves as a management company providing claims administration, risk management & loss control, underwriting & marketing, and client services in New York for the NY Schools Insurance Reciprocal (NYSIR), NY Municipal Insurance Reciprocal (NYMIR) and the national education program for Wright Specialty Insurance.
This position will be responsible for the handling of first party property losses, proactively handling claims from first notice of loss through ultimate resolution.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Conduct presentations including coverage review with agents and public officials at public municipal board meetings when necessary.
Meet with new and existing brokers to provide updates about the Comp Alliance program.
Provide orientations to new members.
Achieve high level of renewal business retention.
Professionally represent the Comp Alliance at trade shows and other conferences.
Knowledge of experience mods, payroll classifications, and SCOPES manual.
Maintain accurate marketing activity reports/ calendars.
Complete other projects as assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Minimum education – B.A.
Proficient with MS Office Suite.
Exceptional telephone demeanor.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Acceptable results of a Motor Vehicle Record report at the time of hire and periodically thereafter.
Vehicle maintenance and minimum acceptable auto insurance coverage is required for business-related travel.
Preferred:
1+Years in the insurance broker/agency or carrier experience preferred.
Active NYS Insurance Brokers License within 6 months of hire.
B.A. with emphasis on marketing, communications, business, risk management or insurance preferred.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000 depending on experience
