Our Client is a manufacturer of electrical assemblies and components used in a wide variety of electrical and mechanical applications. Located in Menomonee Falls with 90 employees. Although we operate independently we are part of the Schunk Group a worldwide company headquartered in Germany with 1.5 billion in sales annually and diverse operations in 28 different countries.
The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Junior Buyer to assist and further strengthen our purchasing department. The Junior Buyers responsibilities include purchasing MRO Supplies components tracking and taking action on Past due orders assuring system costs are updated and cost changes are communicated to relevant Product Managers. You will also work crossfunctionally to assure purchasing policy and procedures are followed and that needed inputs to the purchasing group have those processes and procedures followed.
Junior Buyer Responsibilities :
- Assist all departments with following purchasing procedures
- Follow up on orders to assure timely delivery from suppliers/vendors
- Contact and establish countermeasures with past due items
- Assist with sourcing projects as needed
- Order all MRO and Supply items as needed
- Assist with supplier quotations coordinating RFQs and tracking progress
- Contacts vendors regarding shortages overcharges breakage etc.;
- Raise place and expedite purchase orders inline with manufacturing requirements
- Supplier liaison monitor performance through KPIs and foster collaborative relationships
- Working with colleagues regarding procurement process improvement
- Follow up on missing vendor order confirmations to assure order receipt timing is maintained
- Maintain missing materials report on a daily basis and obtain confirmed delivery dates / order status updates for all outstanding purchase orders
- Adjusting the required bydates on the purchase order and updating comments against each line.
- For critical items: Contacting suppliers the day before a delivery is due to check it is still on schedule update the comments and notify Production Management if delays are expected
- Regular review of MRP to assure required items are on order as needed
- Assure costs with system are uptodate as required and communication with relevant parties as needed to assure cost changes are understood
Junior Buyer Requirements:
- 2 years experience in a Buyer Role
- Experienced and having general knowledge of manufacturing processes such as:
- Machining
- Grinding
- Welding
- Injection Molding
- Stamping
- Experienced working in a fastpaced highvolume environment
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
- Able to read blueprints
- Good PC Skills
- Experience with SAP preferred
