Viterbo University is accepting applications for an Assistant Director of Physical Plant. This position reports to the Director of Physical Plant. The Assistant Director of Physical Plant assists in the supervision, coordination, and overall management of the physical plant department and assumes the responsibility for the physical plant department in the absence of the director. This is a full-time, year-round, eligible for all employee benefits, exempt, administrative salaried position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plans, estimates, negotiates, executes, and managers small to mid-sized renovation and remodel projects.
  Coordinates directly with external contractors and vendors.
• Responsible for administering the campus parking program including managing work study students.
• Assists in the delegation and supervision of work orders through the campus work order system.
• Prepares annual capital budget requests including estimating, planning, and soliciting proposals through an RFP
  process.
• Operates the computer-based card access and photo ID system which includes programming of all cards, system
  scheduling, card inventory control and updating user records.
• Directly supervises the campus grounds staff in all aspects of lawn care, landscaping, and snow removal.
• Composes routine correspondence, purchase orders, and budget transfers.
• Develop and maintain campus building electronic and hardcopy drawing files.
• Other duties as assigned

General Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in facilities management or related field required or a minimum of two to three years
  facilities/project management experience.
• Supervisory and technical skills needed to administer physical plant functions including working knowledge of
  building drawings and specifications.
• Working knowledge of current HVAC, plumbing, and electrical principals.
• An understanding of OSHA regulations.
• Knowledge of lawn care, turf management, and snow removal practices.
• Expanded knowledge of office administration tasks including budget control, purchase orders, and requests for
  quotations.
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and CMMS software.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States. Viterbo University is unable to sponsor or take over the sponsorship of the Employment Visa.
