The Department Market Risk Management is a multi-disciplinary financial derivatives team that applies state-of-the-art technology in performing highly dynamic work. Our mandate is to manage one of the most complex hedging portfolios available in today’s insurance industry. In service of that mandate, we manage a $50 billion+ multi-asset hedging portfolio, do research and development new hedging strategies, new retirement products, and provide modeling and analytics expertise for the business. The Team The Hedging and Trading Team within Market Risk Management team manages Corebridge’s variable annuity (VA) and index annuity (FIA) and index universal life (IUL) $50 billion + portfolio across Individual Retirement, Group Retirement and Life Insurance lines of business. The VA, FIA and IUL business blocks contain complex exotic derivatives that require proven expertise in derivatives, financial engineering, insurance products and the capital markets to effectively manage. We are growing and we are looking for a candidate that can apply these skills in a fast-paced environment to help manage the portfolio.
Principal Responsibilities Assist in performing quantitative analysis and research on derivatives portfolios across various insurance products which include:
- Researching and development of new hedging strategies for existing and new insurance products
- Document quantitative research models, processes, results, and testing procedures
- Asset Liability Management within the Individual Retirement line of business
- Communicate results to external constituents
Play critical role in daily management of derivatives portfolios which include:
- Monitor and support the portfolio management activities
- Daily trading activities, including but not limited to performing analysis to support hedging decisions, ad-hoc quantitative research, discuss and interpret the model, hedging results, detailed attribution analysis.
- Stay abreast of the financial markets, derivatives products, insurance industry trends, hedging strategies
- Improve hedging PnL
- Aggregate and analyze portfolio and market data
- Continuously improve the trading tools and processes
- Assist senior portfolio managers within the team
- Participate in derivatives and investment related modeling and research projects as needed.
Candidate Profile - At least 2+ years of relevant experience in the financial services industry.
- Master’s degree in numerate field. (Computer Science, Physics, Economics, Statistics, Engineering.)ASA/FSA, CFA, FRM, CQF or other financial mathematics designation(s) strongly preferred
- Able to perform under pressure in fast paced environment where priorities can shift quickly.
- Strong programming skills with solid knowledge of Python, Oracle and SQL
- Experience with Bloomberg is preferred
- Knowledge/experience includes one or more of the following:
- Capital Markets (CFA Level)
- Risk Management (FRM Level)
- Assets and Derivatives models and valuation techniques
- Variable Annuities and/or Index Annuities and/or Index Life products

For positions based in New York City, the base salary range is $82,000 - $110,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. In addition, we’re proud to offer a range of competitive benefits.
For positions based in Woodland Hills, CA. the base salary range is $98,000 - $111,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. In addition, we’re proud to offer a range of competitive benefits.
