The ABC News Accounting Senior Financial Accounting Analyst project position is within the Disney Enterprise Financial Services team supporting ABC News. In this position, you will provide real-time financial analysis and decision support services to finance, controllership and operations clients. This project is anticipated to last 1 full year.
About Your Responsibilities
- Record closing journal entries, prepare variance summaries, account reconciliations and applicable financial reporting including annual 10k schedules and quarterly schedules as assigned
- Prepare annual tax reporting schedules, if requested
- Assist in fixed asset reporting
- Maintain and perform financial analysis of data reported and created in SAP
- Effectively communicate with business partners and internal team to better anticipate challenges and seek out process efficiencies
- Extend analysis to support decisions and define impact of various actions
- Understand and execute standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Understand and execute internal controls around job functions
- Understand and be able to explain the main elements of financial statements and reports
- Collaborate and work as a team with peers and business partners
- Provide support, lead, and assist with ad hoc requests/special projects for team objectives
Qualifications
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Ability to prioritize workload and escalate conflicting priorities
- Understanding of accounting fundamentals (e.g., debit/credits, financial statements)
- Complete moderately complex to complex tasks and projects requiring independent initiative
- Possess strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Adaptability and flexibility for changing needs and audiences
- Ability to understand, interpret, and articulate the impact of internal and external factors as they apply to the business/industry/direct processes
- Intermediate Excel knowledge with ability to analyze large sets of data using pivot and lookup tables
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
Additional Qualifications (preferred, but not required)
- Prior experience with or knowledge of SAP preferred
Job Posting Statement
The hiring range for this position in CA is $92,742.00 – $124,400.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
