Position Overview:
The salary range for this position is $480,000 - $850,000. This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan .


The University of California, Davis, Department of Neurological Surgery is seeking applicants for a faculty position specializing in the management of peripheral nerve disorders with desire to supplement the practice with the treatment of spinal disorders. The position is open to all ranks within the Professor of Clinical Neurological Surgery, In-Residence or Health Sciences Clinical Professor series (commensurate with credentials). The UC Davis Department of Neurological Surgery and UC Davis Health teaching hospital are nationally ranked in US News & World Report. Sacramento is centrally located near San Francisco, the Napa Valley and Lake Tahoe with an ideal Mediterranean climate and is one of the top sunniest cities in the U.S. As the capitol of California, it has one of the most diverse populations in the nation.

The ideal candidate has expertise in peripheral nerve surgery. Experience and competence in basic spine surgeries is required. Candidates must have demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment, strong clinical communication/interpersonal skills, and an interest in academic productivity. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an active neurosurgical clinical practice, conduct clinical and/or basic science research, and teach residents and medical students as part of a multidisciplinary team at the UC Davis Spine Center in Sacramento, which includes Orthopedics, PM&R, Pain, and Radiology. General neurosurgical experience and expertise will be expected of all applicants.
