Responsibilities* Ensure all recruiting, hiring, orientation, training, termination, disciplinary and compliances processes are followed.
- Prepare job postings and job line announcements as needed to inform internal and external candidates of available positions.
- Manage and monitor onboarding for all new hires.
- Coordinate and conduct new hire orientation.
- Oversee quarterly employee opinion survey and lead the charge is creating change based on feedback.
- Provide first line of support to resolve and address employee concerns. Listen to employee feedback and take action to improve the day-to-day operation of the hotel.
- Ensure all associates complete training as required by the brand.
- Monitor and Manage incentive programs.
- Coordinate and assist all team members with open enrollment and qualifying events.
- Have an understanding of all benefits available and answer team member questions.
- Approve all coaching and counseling documentation and provide tools, resources and coaching for department heads in progressive discipline and termination processes.
- Track, update and maintain all personnel files.
- Host monthly luncheons and annual holiday party.
- Act as the hotel’s liaison with workers’ compensation carrier to insure prompt and thorough review of open claims and to ensure that claims are closed as quickly as possible. Maintain required OSHA reporting system.
- Manage and monitor the hotel Safety Committee and Make a Difference Committee tasks and monthly meetings.
- Be knowledgeable of all company policies regarding employee handbook, emergency procedures and security concerns.
Qualifications* 2 years of hotel management level experience
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process. Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to maintain excellent relations with staff and maintain staff and guest confidentiality at all times.
- Familiar and fluent with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.
- Working knowledge of federal, state and local laws governing equal employment opportunity and civil rights, occupational safety and health, wage and hour issues, and labor relations, including, but not limited to the following statutes and their comparable state and local laws (where applicable): Title VII, Equal Pay Act, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, FLSA, ADA, OSHA, FMLA, NLRA.
- Ability to converse calmly with irate guests, superiors and subordinates in intense emotional situations.
- Ability to memorize, recollect and quickly retrieve dates, names, times and other data.
