Job description
Genova Burns LLC is seeking a litigation paralegal with three plus years of experience as a litigation paralegal.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial case assessments
- Conduct legal research
- Research and analyze law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, etc. to prepare legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, etc. for use by attorney.
- Experience with state and federal court filing, document retrieval rules and procedures.
- Knowledge and competence in electronic filing in state and federal courts
- Compile information for discovery responses, interrogatories, pleadings, motions, and depositions
- Extensive document management, including gathering, indexing, analyzing and producing documents
- Review and summarize deposition transcripts
- Preparation of hearing/deposition binders
- Assist attorneys with discovery requests and document productions.
- Monitor cases
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal
- Possess excellent communication and organizational skills
- Able to handle multiple tasks in a very busy environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), e-filing (both state and federal)
- Strong attention to detail with excellent proofreading skills
