Position Summary : In the position of Civil Assistant Engineer, the responsibilities include supporting civil engineering projects through involvement in planning, design, and execution. This role requires collaboration with senior engineers, active contribution to project development, and ensuring compliance with regulations, with a focus on fostering strong communication and problem-solving skills within a team-oriented environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities : - Identifies discrepancies in results and proposes an approach to solve new problems encountered.
- Prepares designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, reports, plans, specifications, and estimates under the direction of a supervising engineer.
- Collects, organizes, summarizes, and analyzes data under the direction of a supervising engineer.
- Prepares quantity and cost estimates for projects.
- Participates in the development of technical solutions.
- Conducts detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and prepares reports.
- Records neat and accurate computations and field notes. Regularly communicate progress, flag observed issues, and ask questions when needed.
- Conducts engineering design under the supervision of a supervising engineer.
- Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements : - Engineering in Training Certification
- PE or in the process of obtaining, preferred
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Civil or Electrical Engineering; 2-5 years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills: - MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Edge)
