Job description
Position Summary:
Temporary Research Assistant position is designed to assist lab staff in research and technical activities in Dr. Feng's lab. Under supervision and at the direction of senior lab members and PI, incumbent will be involved in and assist with research and technical operations related to assisting in design and execution of experiments, preparation of submission and publication materials, and learning appropriate scientific methods and procedures.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Works under the direction of PI and senior lab members. Assists with routine tasks related to cellular and mouse experiments and laboratory projects that are proposed in the grant(s), with specific focus on the function of the p53 pathway in tumorigenesis and the regulation of the p53 pathway under the direction of the principal investigator and other senior lab members. Specifically, incumbent will be involved in and assist with research and technical operations related to the role of combination and gene inhibitor therapy and research and technical activity related to breast cancer tissue micorarrays.
- Have competent computer skills and be able to utilize equipment and technology in support of project.
- Must possess effective oral and written communication skills and ability to summarize scientific research process and/or data and communicate project findings to assist in the preparation and submission of grants and publication of scientific research papers/articles/manuscripts.

- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Undergraduate student currently pursuing a BS/BA degree.
- Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
