Overview
The Employee Relations Specialist will provide support and education to Tresco Works employees with varying abilities in accordance with the AbilityOne and Horizons of New Mexico reporting requirements, along with all applicable federal, state, local, and Tresco policies and procedures, while networking with community-based supports which provide services to persons with disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Maintain weekly updated disabled direct ratio status to assure Tresco Works meets the AbilityOne and New Mexico State Use Act ratio requirements.
- Responsible for maintaining and developing the Quarterly Employment Report (QER), Individual Eligibility Evaluation (IEE) and Employee Research System (ERS) to ensure compliance.
- Ensure Custom Fields in ADP remain up to date and current with QER, ERS, and IEE information.
- Conducts management training in identified areas of development as necessary.
- Educate and disseminate information regarding policy and standard updates from Source America and reviews completed by Source America and how it affects Tresco's employees and future compliance.
- Ensure compliance with Source America and Horizons reporting requirements.
- Serve as the point of contact for Source America reviews.
- Communicate with the Human Resources Recruiter regarding when onboarding new employees, gather medical documentation and ensuring compliance with AB1 and Horizons requirements.
- As determined by the Human Resources Director, periodically visit all contract locations in performance of duties, to include overnight stays.
- Benefits planning (Social Security, VA, Medicaid, etc.) POC for Tresco Works.
- Understand ADP Workforce Now and foster relations with Financial Department.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES. Other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education . Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Social Work, or related field and 3 years of progressive experience in human resources management, or a combination of equivalent and relevant education and experience.
Experience . Case management experience. HRIS preferably ADP Workforce Now or similar HRIS experience preferred. Experience working with individuals with differing abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
Licenses/Certifications . Must hold Valid driver’s license. SHRM-CP preferred.
Other (e.g., post-offer drug screen, background check, driver’s license record, etc.) . Employee’s must undergo a driver’s license record check; employees must pass a government background check.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED BY THE POSITION:
- Knowledge of the AbilityOne and New Mexico State Use Act programs and requirements.
- Must be able to multi-task, see the big picture, while not missing details.
- Time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize accordingly.
- Strong written communication skills to maintain large amounts of data and paperwork.
- Knowledge and ability to communicate company policies and enforce decisions within authority.
- Knowledge of HRMS (Human Resource Management System) and/or HRIS (Human Resource Information System) software.
- Knowledge of local and federal employment laws and regulations.
- Ability to work under stress and to respond quickly in emergency situations.
- Reading and comprehension at level necessary to perform job duties appropriately.
- Must be able to work independently.
Rate of Pay: SP-2
Hours: Monday-Thursday 7:30a-5:30p Friday 8a-12p
