Your Impact:We are hiring a Senior Traffic/ITS Engineer in our Reston, VA office to support our growing Traffic/ITS group. The candidate will be part of a hands-on team dedicated to delivery of intelligent transportation systems (ITS), traffic engineering, and Connected Vehicle (CV) projects for clients across the mid-Atlantic region and beyond. Depending on qualifications, candidate may serve in a project management role or will be expected to grow into a project management role.
When you join us as a Traffic/ITS Engineer you’ll be responsible for the following:
• Preparation of traffic engineering and ITS reports, plans, specifications, and estimates based on project analyses and assessments.
• Systems Engineering design for ITS projects.
• ITS, Electrical, fiber optic and wireless communications, and network design tasks.
• Support of connected vehicle pilot program development and project design elements.
• Coordination and attendance at project meetings with clients, public officials, engineers, planners and transportation system users.
• Project support in the delivery of technical and analytical services, including plan and specification preparation, data analysis, research, and utilizing GIS and other design software.
• Task and project management activities.
• Supervision and mentoring of junior-level engineering and technical staff.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
• 5-10 years of progressive experience in ITS/ Traffic Engineering projects
• Experience with VDOT, DDOT, and Maryland SHA projects.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software
Ideally, you’ll also have:
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Experience with MicroStation or AutoCAD
