Position Summary/Description:

The Research Associate/Project Manager will be responsible for collecting data (i.e., conducting interviews, content analysis) and coordinating data collection (i.e., monitoring quantitative survey data), verifying data quality, implementing agreed upon study methodologies, managing databases, conducting qualitative data analysis, interpreting results, and disseminating findings. They will maintain collaboration with outside agencies for research related projects and programs (i.e., Qualtrics), ensuring the project is meeting or exceeding milestones or timelines for deliverables as appropriate, and work with the University to ensure that all research and evaluation activities conducted for the contract are in compliance with the university and Internal Review Board ( IRB ). They will assist the lead evaluator with all aspects of the evaluation, including preparing for evaluation team meeting, and monitoring adherence to project timelines as well as the quality of study deliverables.

The Research Associate/Project Manager will lead the qualitative data collection including the content analysis of various evaluation activities. They will train evaluation staff (i.e., graduate research students) on interview techniques, qualitative coding and data analysis. They will formulate qualitative methods, use qualitative software, and suggest options for improving quality, identify potential problems, recommend and implement solutions, and collaborate in the development of new techniques (if necessary). When necessary, they will communicate with one or more project managers in resolving issues and will be responsible for communicating resolution to all interested parties external and internal to UNC . They will manage, gather, analyze, review, and report information for the evaluation. They will also develop and document qualitative evaluation protocols to ensure data integrity and accuracy. They will assist the lead evaluator with developing evaluation reports and other deliverables outline in the contract. They will be develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Education and Experience:

Experience in research operations, research administration, project management, or grants management is strongly preferred. Expertise in data analysis, data management, financial management, and hiring are strongly preferred.
