About the position:

Under the general supervision of the Sr. program coordinator of FOAC, the Recreation & Activity /Event Coordinator is responsible for the full aspects of educational and recreational activities and programs for the Older Adult Center including uploading and maintaining all the units and their database. On Wednesday, the Coordinator will lead recreation and activities/events in the Manhattan Satellite. The Coordinator will also provide smartphone classes for older adults at Flushing Older Adult Center.

Responsibility:

· Plan, schedule, and provide technology classes (smartphone and computer), the daily recreation programs, and activities of the Older Adult Center.

· Initiate and maintain recreational classes and activities for the increasing needs of older adults.

· Assess activities with the senior program coordinator and ensure that recreational and educational data is collected, uploaded, and analyzed.

· Comply with NYC Aging and agency class policies.

· Maintain contracted units

· Set up and prepare for recreational classes, activities, and events.

· Assist the Sr. Program Coordinator to make daily announcements to older adults about upcoming events, activities, and classes

· Assist the Sr. Program Coordinator to produce monthly class schedules

Qualifications:

· BA Degree or Associate Degree with experience

· Bilingual in Korean and English

· Computer skills and knowledge in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and more

· Ability to communicate in English through email and other means.

· Interest, enthusiasm, and affinity for KCS’ mission

· Experience in working with older adults and recreational programs plus

· Able to teach smartphone and other group activities
