Job description
Platform Infra Architect
Location: Dallas, Texas / Remote
Job Responsibilities -
- Establishment of Transition and Transformation management processes. Creating/maintaining a reference and standards document
- Establishing Platform templates supporting key dimensions (availability, security, performance, events monitoring, etc ).
- Participation in architecture initiatives, build roadmaps for continuous modernization of Enterprise Application platforms.
- Implement infrastructure solutions per reference architecture, contractual and security requirements.
- Ensure that all Infrastructure issues, delays, or client concerns are resolved on a timely basis or escalated to upper management.
- Act as SME between IT Service Provider and Application / Business units.
- Standard Operating Procedures for daily interaction with IT implementation partners
- Participate during Incident resolution and RCA.
- Subject matter expert for applications, business functions and active liasoning resource between the business community including communications, planning and execution.
- Maintain individual expertise by staying abreast of industry trends, reviewing industry publications, emerging trends and compliance.
- Help create and maintain disaster recovery processes and technology.
- Review/modernize/modify configuration, installation, maintenance, and backup processes for data protection.
Specific Requirements -
- 10+ years of overall IT / technical services experience with bachelor s degree in computer science or related field of Information Technology
- Platform and infrastructure architecture experience Cloud, Hybrid and Private hosting
- Excellent understanding of ITIL processes, IT systems infrastructure and best practices.
- Project management experience in an infrastructure-oriented environment
- Capable of working in a growth-oriented environment, with ability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent requests, projects, and responsibilities.
- Proven track record of leveraging vendor and consultant expertise for IT project delivery and support
- Strong analytical, problem solving and judgement skills.
- Leadership and Customer facing skills
- Excellent Verbal and Written Communication skills
- Fundamental understanding of the following technology areas:
- Compute and Networking (LAN, WAN, WLAN)
- Storage (SAN) and Backup
- Virtualization (Server and Storage), Public, Hybrid and Private clouds
- Web Technology (Web Servers, Application Servers, Load Balancers)
- Security technology and processes - e.g. firewalls, intrusion prevention, compliance monitoring, vulnerability management
- Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning
- Capacity Planning
- High Availability
- Well versed with Infrastructure financials operations
- High-level understanding of specific technologies:
- Cloud Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform or Oracle Cloud
- Cisco UCS
- Microsoft Windows and Linux Operating Systems
- Cisco Network Gear
- EMC/3-PAR
- VMware / Oracle Virtualization
- Veeam / Symantec NetBackup
Preferred Skillset
- VCP3/VCP4 certification
- ITIL V3 Certification
- MCSE, CISSP, CISA or CISM is plus.
