Job description
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist to join our surgical team at our reputable facility in Bradenton, FL.
This position requires a minimum of 2 years of multi-specialty experience and Certification as a Surgical Technologist. While this position is not in a trauma center, it offers a diverse range of surgical cases to provide a challenging and rewarding experience.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field before and during surgical procedures
- Assist the surgical team with gowning, gloving, and draping
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team by providing the appropriate instruments, supplies, and equipment
- Ensure the availability and functionality of surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies
- Collaborate closely with the surgical team to maintain a safe and efficient operating room environment
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols and maintain aseptic techniques at all times
- Assist with patient positioning and transportation within the surgical suite
- Manage and document the use of surgical instruments and supplies to ensure accurate inventory control
- Assist in the cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of surgical instruments and equipment
- Provide support during emergency situations and demonstrate proficiency in basic life support techniques
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of surgical experience
- Extensive multi-specialty experience
- Proficiency in various surgical procedures and knowledge of surgical instrumentation
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment and adapt to changing circumstances
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with the surgical team
- Availability to work 8 or 10-hour shifts, including call shifts with an average of 6-7 calls in a 4-week period
- Robotic surgical experience is highly desirable
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist is preferred but not required
