Sheet Metal or Plumbing Helper
Ames, IA - Expected start date 2/12 / Des Moines, IA - Expected start date 3/1
Shift: Monday - Friday / 7am - 5pm
Job Description:
**Sheet Metal Worker**
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements.
- Fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products such as ducts, fittings, and HVAC components.
- Using hand and power tools to cut, bend, shape, and fabricate sheet metal.
- Inspecting and repairing existing ductwork systems.
- Collaborating with other tradespeople on construction projects.
- Ensuring compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
- Maintaining tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Communicating effectively with supervisors, team members, and clients.
**Plumber**
- Installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications to determine layout and installation requirements.
- Installing and repairing pipes, fixtures, and plumbing systems according to codes and standards.
- Locating and repairing issues with plumbing systems, such as leaks or clogs.
- Collaborating with other construction professionals on projects.
- Ensuring proper functioning of plumbing fixtures and systems.
- Following safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe work environment.
- Maintaining tools and equipment in good working order.
- Providing excellent customer service and addressing client concerns effectively.
Requirements:
- Valid Drivers License and reliable transportation
- 6+ months of Sheet metal or plumbing experience
- Looking for career in sheet metal or plumbing
