Job Summary:
We are looking for a talented and skilled electrical/electronics engineer, ideally with some lighting controls related experience.

• The role is a mix of engineering design for production and new product development. In this role, you will be responsible for the design of LED light engines, PCBs and related documents for production needs as well as contribute to a multi-functional product design team working on driver selection and lighting controls layouts. 
• Additionally, you will be involved in collaborating with UL/ETL to ensure compliance and outside vendors on PCB design using Altium.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the production team to design and optimize PCB layouts using Altium, ensuring manufacturability, reliability, and compliance with UL/ETL safety standards.
• Conduct thorough testing and validation of lighting control systems and LED light engines, specifically focusing on safety and compliance with UL/ETL standards.
• Design lighting controls layouts for various projects, considering factors such as functionality, energy efficiency, and user requirements while ensuring compliance with safety standards, such as UL/ETL.
• Collaborate with UL/ETL testing labs to ensure compliance of lighting control systems and LED products with safety standards and regulations.
• Select appropriate drivers and controls on a fixture level, ensuring compatibility, performance, and compliance with UL/ETL safety standards.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest UL/ETL safety standards and regulations pertaining to lighting controls and electrical engineering, and ensure that our products adhere to these standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, quality assurance, and UL/ETL testing labs, to ensure that all products meet safety requirements and regulations.
• Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams, external stakeholders, and customers regarding UL/ETL compliance and safety standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or other engineering degree with related coursework.
• Experience of single and multilayer PCB design using Altium or similar software.
• Experience working with UL/ETL testing labs and ensuring compliance of lighting control systems and LED products.
• Solid understanding of LED technology, drivers, and optics, with an emphasis on safety considerations.
• Ideally experience in lighting controls design, driver and controls selection, with knowledge of lighting control protocols such as DALI, DMX, and wireless controls.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, particularly in relation to UL/ETL compliance.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and with UL/ETL testing labs.
