Job Classification - Full time, Exempt.
Essential Job Functions:
- Prepare (write and edit) analytical validation and clinical reports, summary documents, and other documents that will be submitted to partners and/or regulatory agencies for publication and/or presentation. May prepare scientific manuscripts, abstracts, and posters. May assist in literature research to support reports and scientific plans.
- Write, analyze, integrate, organize, and edit materials based on large amounts of disparate data from multiple sources.
- Provide writing, editing, and project management support for the development of clinical analytical documents and medical publications/presentations, as well as regulatory filings as needed. Assist in the development of formats, templates, review sheets, style guides and guidelines for clinical and other documentation.
- Edit and proofread to ensure technical accuracy, readability, usability, and persuasiveness. Review and revise materials to ensure consistency with other relevant, system-wide standards and practices. Proof and approve final copies for assigned projects. Apply knowledge of established stylistic rules, correct grammar and spelling, and use consistent tone and style to achieve educational objectives.
- Support a cross-functional team including Pathology, Science, Operations, and Quality/Regulatory.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred) in life sciences with a writing background.
- 1-3 years of experience in medical, scientific or technical writing, including writing for both general public/patients and technical/business audiences.
- Excellent writing, editing, and information design skills, as well as attention to detail with demonstrated ability to translate complex information into clear, persuasive, and actionable materials.
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer systems and tools including word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and desktop publishing applications.
- Demonstrated proficiency in medical and scientific information retrieval.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medical writing conventions, including the use of abbreviations, citations, etc.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills and data analysis skills; ability to communicate tactfully and clearly with professionals at all levels.
