Job description

HW is a utility construction firm providing critical infrastructure for North America's Power, Oil & Gas Pipeline, Gas Distribution, and Communications markets. HW is also a founding member of the ET&D Partnership, a collaborative industry partnership working to reduce fatalities, injuries, and illnesses in the construction industry, and is currently recruiting for a Telematics Coordiantor in Pomona,CA.

 

The Telematics Coordinator is a Fleet Department office-based position responsible for the daily management of all telematics systems/data being utilized within the Fleet department. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience with on-road vehicle, off road, & OEM equipment telematics/IoT solutions with the ability to analyze solution data to determine corrective actions needed in support of data quality expectations and reporting deliverables. This position will be the primary point of contact for all company telematics programs.

• Interface with internal and external customers to monitor and measure all telematics solutions’ health & performance

• Work with OEMs and 3rd party telematics providers to resolve telematics related issues 

• Work with business units to identify telematics/account needs when applicable

• Evaluate solutions for complex telematics health/performance issues such as inconsistent cellular connectivity and non-powered asset tracking

• Run daily/weekly/monthly telematics reports

• Identify & facilitate corrective actions for non-compliant device performance in multiple software platforms

• Assist with telematics field operations, when applicable, for data collection 

• Other duties assigned as needed

• Complies with and follows all applicable and required safety standards and procedures

• Setup and manager ELD devises (tablets)

 

• A minimum 1-3 years of experience managing a telematics program involving OEM & third-party telematics solutions 

• Understanding of basic telematics data integration principles

• Analog telematics installation experience/comprehension

• Machine control data management experience a plus 

• Must be people-oriented with the ability to build business relationships

• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills are required

• Proficient computer skills including MS Office Suite applications, smartphones, and tablets

• The ability to work independently and with indirect oversight

• Earthmoving & other construction equipment knowledge 

• Compliance with all regulatory & company regulations and policies

• Must be able to work overtime as needed

• Knowledge of State and Federal HOS and RODS requirements. 

• A high school diploma or its equivalent is required

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Telematics device installation experience (analog & CAN Bus)

• Basic mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment & vehicles
