Duties and Responsibilities:

● NTAs will be expected to use a Positive Behavior approach to school culture and climate.
● NTAs will be expected to be solutions oriented and attend team meetings with a positive
approach to new ideas.
● NTAs will be expected to actively participate in the Caring School Community (CSC).
● NTAs will be expected to demonstrate initiative in upholding school wide expectations.
● NTAs will be expected to follow a school-wide approach by monitoring and addressing students
at all grade levels K through 8.
● NTAs will reinforce, supervise students, and support teachers during safety procedures and
drills.
● NTAs will be expected to do daily morning classroom checks to uphold uniform expectations and
address violations.
● NTAs will be expected to support discipline protocols with fidelity and hold high expectations for
students.
● NTAs will support the Deans and Assistant Principals in office work including filing, uniform
violations, attendance accountability, etc.
● NTAs will be expected to monitor all hallways transitions, including to and from expressive arts
and lunches, monitoring student hall passes, and do regular hallway and bathroom checks for
students out of bounds.
● NTAs will be expected to arrive to work on time and stay the duration of the day in order to
closely monitor arrival and dismissal for the safety of all students.

● NTAs will be responsible for monitoring lunch and after-school detentions, upholding the
disciplinary expectations set by the Deans and Assistant Principals
● NTAs will receive quarterly Performance Reviews by the Deans and/or Assistant Principals
● NTAs will adhere to Signature Practices for technology use.

Education and certifications

• Education equivalent to the completion of the twelfth school grade.
• One year of volunteer or paid experience working with youth which has included responsibility for maintaining discipline or security, directing activities and/or counseling.
• Must be able to pass all required background checks

prosocial development. Building relationships and fostering students' sense of community are a critical
part of our work at APS and as such, we have partnered with the Collaborative Classroom to implement
the Caring School Community Model in all of our schools.
Caring School Community model builds positive classroom and schoolwide communities while
developing students' social and emotional learning (SEL) skills and competencies. It is designed to help
students become caring, responsible members of their school communities and, ultimately, to grow into
humane, principled and skilled citizens of a democratic society. The lessons in the program help faculty
and staff create a warm, safe, and disciplined school environment where all community members can
develop the skills and dispositions they need to interact constructively with others.
