Job description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The incumbent in this position is responsible for table poker operations, new games, promotions, and the financial performance of the Poker Department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
(These functions are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position)
- Responsible for appropriate training for Poker Room personnel while ensuring adequate staffing levels and proper implementation of standards.
- Responsible for implementation of departmental budget and adequacy of all Poker Department equipment.
- Initiates new marketing strategies, promotions, and concepts for Poker Room, subject to the approval of the Director of Gaming Operations and/or the President.
- Keep abreast of new technology, equipment, and accessories under development, also evaluate and recommend potential benefits of implementation.
- Assist in developing strategies and programs to continually increase the gaming value for the Poker customer.
- Ensure that procedures protect the integrity and security of the company, team members, and guest.
- Oversee gaming guest service training programs and to elevate the service in this area to a position of superiority.
- Team member performance training and development, disciplinary standards and guidelines.
- Investigates issues related to guest service and makes recommendations to improve service.
- Perform other duties as assigned and adheres to all Illinois Gaming Board Regulations.

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Attend seminars when needed.
EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)
This knowledge and these abilities are typically acquired through five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in the gaming industry, three (3) years supervisory experience with emphasis on Poker and a high school diploma or GED, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):
- Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Illinois Gaming Board requirements.
- Must successfully pass background check.
- Must successfully pass drug screening.
- Prior experience in the Gaming industry strongly preferred.
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
- Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts.
- Prior experience opening new properties/outlets strongly preferred.
KNOWLEDGE OF:
- All casino Poker games.
- Interpersonal communication, team building, and problem-solving skills required.
- The Gaming industry, including principles and practices of a capital and operations budget.
- Procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications such as word processing, email, spreadsheets, and databases to include excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.

- Deliver a service level which creates an atmosphere that makes our guests want to return, giving each guest a positive, memorable entertainment experience.
- Present an image of excitement, enthusiasm, and outgoing personality, while being able to project a professional appearance.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
- This position spends time on the Casino floor and is subject to varying levels of crowds and noise; and the severity of which depends upon guest volume.
