Responsibilities

The role of the Longview HSE Manager is to provide overarching personal safety, process safety, and environmental leadership for the Longview site. This role requires the ability to manage a broad and diverse team of HSE professionals, assume accountability for site HSE performance, and embrace and foster strong partnership with Longview Manufacturing counterparts. The role reports up through the Chemical Intermediates HSE branch of the Global Health, Safety, and Environmental organization. Core responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Direct leadership of Environmental Operations, Industrial Hygiene, and other safety support personnel
• Matrixed partnership with the TXO Process Safety Service team and TXO Plant Protection
• Joint responsibility (with Manufacturing) for overall HSE performance at the Longview site, and responsibility for driving continual improvement in that performance
• Management of the Longview GHSE Budget
• Advocacy for HSE resources necessary to ensure adequate support for the Longview site

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or safety-related discipline
• Good interpersonal, communication, and team skills. This position will be involved in many cross-functional interactions.
• Strong customer focus, with demonstrated ability to solve complex issues and work in partnership with Manufacturing and other stakeholders.
• Ability to manage a large team effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years’ experience in a chemical manufacturing setting with broad understanding of operational needs and issues across the site.
• Prior people leadership experience
• Demonstrated project management skills
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, TCEQ, ACC, API, and Internal HSE standards
