We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health to join our compassionate team of professionals. This could be a full time or part time position. As a Certified Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and treatment plans to our diverse patient population.

Responsibilities
As a CNP at SPBHS, you will:
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments to determine appropriate treatment plans for patients with mental health disorders.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including psychiatrists, therapists, and social workers, to develop individualized care plans and treatment goals.
- Prescribe and manage medication regimens, making adjustments as necessary based on patient response and side effect management.
- Offer psychoeducation and support to patients and their families, empowering them with the knowledge and skills to manage their mental health conditions effectively.
- Document all patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in regular case conferences and team meetings to review patient progress, address challenges, and develop strategies to enhance the quality of care.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in psychiatric and mental health practices, taking an active role in professional development and continuing education.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current certification as a Certified Nurse Practitioner and valid state licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in South Dakota.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience working as a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications, psychopharmacology, and evidence-based treatment approaches.
- Excellent assessment, diagnostic, and clinical skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, enabling effective collaboration with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Empathy, compassion, and a strong commitment to providing high-quality care to individuals with mental health disorders.
