Job Summary:

The Field Application Engineer will be responsible for supporting Globalstar's IoT and Spot customers in assisting them with technical details necessary to integrate our products into their applications. Further, they will support our Sales team by serving as a SME on the Globalstar products in customer calls. They will also serve as a development engineering resource in becoming a SME on new product to serve in Beta trials with customers. In addition, they will document, investigate, validate, and define customer/product issues in JIRA for engineering review.

In this role, customer documentation will be kept in JIRA. The interface to IT and Engineering will be through JIRA. The FAE must be capable of understanding embedded systems to support the customer and engineering through application testing utilizing nRF tools and python scripting.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Provide technical expertise to customers, sales, and support teams, assisting with product installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.

• Develop in-depth knowledge of products and solutions, staying up to date with new features and updates

• Work with customers to find the best product solution for their need

• Maintain relationships with clients to ensure smooth integration of products and services

• Diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly, collaborating with engineering and product assurance teams as needed

• Create and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals, quick start guides and troubleshooting procedures

• Work with existing team to learn and support legacy products/applications

• Gather customer feedback and insights to provide input for product improvements and enhancements

• Keep up with industry best practices for security and apply to everyday work

• Utilize tools such as Atlassian Jira daily

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills

• Effective communications skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical audiences

• Proficient in scripting, embedded software development, python, C

• Customer focused mindset

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and fast paced environment

• Willingness to travel to customer sites as required

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field

• Strong technical proficiency in RF communications, Satellite preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at time
