Job description
We are assisting a fast growth, Private Equity backed firm with their search for an Accounting Manager. Our client is based in the Salt Lake area and are working a hybrid work schedule. The Accounting Manager is a newly created position and will be responsible for enhancing the month-end close process to support the Operating Companies. This role will report directly to the VP of Finance.
Responsibilities:- Assist in leading the monthly and quarterly accounting close process and continuously improve processes to scale with the organization
- Manage general ledger and review monthly and quarterly reconciliations
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Provide support and analysis in the preparation of management presentations
- Identify and implement improvements to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the day-to-day operations as well as the close process
- Recommend and implement best practices regarding accounting policies and procedures
- Look for ways to automate the accounting function where possible
- Build relationships cross-functionally to foster collaboration both inside and outside of the finance and accounting teams
Required Qualifications:- BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
- 5+ years of work experience in the accounting field
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Advanced systems experience with ERP’s similar to NetSuite and maximizing the use of the system
- Audit experience and working with private equity-backed companies is a plus
