Job description
Delaware North Gaming is searching for a Director of Slot Operations to join our team at Wheeling Island Casino in Wheeling, West Virginia. Our ideal candidate is experienced in the gaming industry and with local gaming regulations. You'll use your skills to effectively manage the Slots Department, including the development of strategic and tactical plans to optimize performance and revenue. As a leader within the unit, you'll also be held accountable for managing, supervising, coaching the Slot team so they remain engaged.

Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack in Wheeling, West Virginia, is a Delaware North-owned-and-operated regional gaming destination featuring 1,300 electronic gaming machines, 22 table games, live greyhound racing, and simulcast wagering. Wheeling Island also features a 151-room hotel, many dining options, and a 1,000-seat showroom.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and rules.
- Develop, implement, and enforce all departmental policies and procedures.
- Establish the annual departmental budget and ensures adherence to the planned budget.
- Monitor and report on slot performance; adjust machines to maximize profitability.
- Evaluates new equipment for purchase; coordinates all machine repairs, moves, and installation with maintenance and the state gaming authority.
- Manage and direct the selection, training, development, and appraisal of the team.
- Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge and skill.
- Organize and delegate assignments as assigned to the Shift Manager.
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints and issues.
- At least five years' experience in slot operations and management.
- Management of yearly budgets, monthly P&L's, quarterly departmental reviews for the Slot team.
- Able to obtain and maintain a state gaming license.
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office products.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid math skills.
- Read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Ability to remain calm and collected under pressure.
- Respond to visual and auditory cues.
- Able to work flexible shifts.
- Able to be confined to a small area for a long period of time.
- Able to work in a noisy environment.
