The Opportunity:
As the WSU Everett Mathematics, Engineering, Science, and Achievement (MESA) Program Director, you will serve as the primary coordinator and overseer of activities funded or sponsored by the MESA State Office and/or for the benefit of MESA students. The MESA program at WSU Everett aims to promote science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) careers, STEM education, and STEM programs to students of color, first generation college students, and historically excluded populations in STEM fields. You are responsible for leading efforts to accomplish student success objectives at the MESA Student Center. This position reports to the WSU Everett Vice Chancellor of Student Success.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, engineering, science, education, or other closely related field and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in a field related to the functional managerial area which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Minimum one (1) year experience in developing or managing budgets or with grant or proposal writing.
Minimum one (1) year experience working directly with students.
Possession of, or ability to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in mathematics, engineering, science, or education.
Experience working with administrators and teachers in a secondary school/district or community college/university system.
Experience working with pre-college and college students, community groups from diverse cultures.
Experience working with non-profit or community service organizations.
Experience working with business and industry.
Experience in coordinating student services including but not limited to field trips, tutoring, speakers, inventive awards, career and academic advising, and enrichment programs.
Experience in coordinating the activities of the secondary school/college teachers/staff and other volunteers to plan programs and curricula.

Monthly Salary : $5,478.08 - $6,695.43 | In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range. For additional information, please review WSU’s Administrative Professional Compensation .

Overtime Eligibility: Overtime eligibility will be determined based on final salary placement.

This is a Temporary position.
Temporary End Date : This position's renewal is dependent upon additional funding being secured annually to extend employment.
