POSITION: Facilities Manager
COMPENSATION: Pays up to $26 per hour
JOB TYPE: Full-Time
Position Goals:
Under the general supervision of the Head of Schools, the incumbent of this position has the responsibility for planning, organizing, and directing the custodial, repair, maintenance, new construction, and grounds keeping activities of the entire campus and all other campus property.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partners with Head of Schools and CFO in long-range planning to support future campus needs and growth.
- Provides input for the facilities budget.
- Monitors facilities budget to ensure compliance.
- Prepares and oversees RFP/RFQ process and works with outside partners to ensure the successful completion of all projects meeting deadlines within budget; includes preparing and managing project reports, within the State and Federal regulations.
- Manages all necessary permits and regulations District-wide.
- Manages ordering of materials and supplies.
- Provides management and direction to the Facilities Supervisor and any development pertaining to the District, special project committees and contracted services.
- Oversees and monitors preventative maintenance, repairs, equipment monitoring, grounds maintenance, and infrastructure maintenance to ensure Supervisor and Departmental Staff are fulfilling duties.
- Directs the Supervisor of the facilities department and provides managerial support to department staff when situations are escalated by the supervisor.
- Ensures that the correct and safe practices are being used district wide to maintain a safe working environment for all school stakeholders.
- Monitors annual certifications on systems such as elevators, fire alarm, fire sprinkler systems, etc.
- Establishes and manages a list of contractors and vendors to assist facilities on events outside the capabilities of the facilities staff.
- Maintains an inventory of school-owned tools and equipment.
- Understand and interpret applicable state building codes and government rules and regulations.
- Proven expertise in use of computer software including email, Microsoft word, excel and google docs.
- Effectively resolves escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments to ensure smooth operations of buildings utilized by the organization.
- Point of contact for handling issues related to building security, fire safety, emergency preparedness and accessibility compliance.

Professional Experience:
- Five (5) years’ experience in facilitates management and supervision of District operations.
- Good analytical / critical thinking
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints / drawings.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Infrastructure services such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, building automation.
- Life Safety Code 101
- Fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems
- Experience in developing and managing budgets.
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Facilities Management or Civil Engineering, master’s degree preferred.
- Proven project management skills
- The individual must be coordinated, quick thinking, organized and have excellent people skills.
- Impeccable written and verbal communications skills
- Proven ability to work in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced educational campus environment.
