The Director of National Sales is a strategic member of AFS responsible for leading the U.S. sales team, developing a process-based culture that delivers profitable sales results.
Responsibilities:
Lead by example and promote the IDEX values of Great Teams, Customer Obsession, and Business Simplicity through 80:20 with both the managed sales team and other cross-functional team members.
Lead and coach team members on how to achieve sales targets using end-user, distribution, and OEM partnerships.
Collaborate with team to apply 80:20 simplification techniques to create focus on achieving monthly sales targets.
Build a culture of “sales process” and “value selling”.
Support VP of Sales by completing monthly funnel audits, national account reviews, annual team performance reviews, and other management tools.
Build working relationships with cross-functional peers.
Manage a team of 4 to 6 regional sales managers in the U.S and its territories to achieve the AFS annual plan for orders, sales, and profit.
Partner team members by calling on and owning large national accounts and supporting these accounts within specific sales regions.
Collaborate with team to optimize the Buy Cycle Funnel™ process to achieve monthly order targets.
Work with team members to identify new 80-sized opportunities.
Build relationships in the Up-Stream, Mid-Stream, and Down Stream oil and gas industry.
Participate in industry events including tradeshows, expos, conferences, and industry meetings.
Build understanding of product solutions and value they deliver to end-users.
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in technical field (science or engineering) or equivalent work experience
9+ Years successful experience working as sales representative
7+ Years managing a sales team
7+ Years of experience selling pumps, compressors, meters, registers.
5+ Years of experience selling in the Oil and Gas Industry (or similar industrial sales)
5+ Years of experience implementing and managing a sales funnel process
5+ Years of experience applying 80:20 analysis to sales environments
Effective communication skills, (verbal, written, and electronic)
Strong coaching and training ability
Strong organizational and project management skills
Additional Qualifications:
Excellent organization, communication, and follow-through skills
Strong ability to prioritize and multitask
Self-directed and with ability to act quickly in ambiguous situations
Problem solving abilities
Supervisory Responsibility
Manages a team of 4 to 6 Regional Sales Managers.
Work Environment
Exposure to manufacturing environment. Noise level may vary from moderate office environment to noisy/loud in the plant area. Proper use of safety equipment such as steel-toed shoes, goggles, safety glasses, gloves, apron and face shield must be observed.
Travel
50% travel, typically in the United States

Total Rewards
The compensation range for this position is $89,800.00 - $134,800.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
