Job description
Our client are a biopharmaceutical company, committed to tackling unmet medical needs in oncology through groundbreaking drug discovery. They are currently hiring an AI/ML Drug Discovery Director to lead their AI/ML team and play a crucial role in advancing the company’s AI platform specifically tailored for oncology.
Responsibilities:
As anAI/ML Drug Discovery Director, you will use machine-learning models with physics-based computational methods for drug discovery.
You will create, test, validate and enhance deep-learning models to formulate new structures for drug discovery.
Innovate and design architectures for deep learning, utilizing information from extensive public databases and proprietary datasets.
Investigate and define effective objectives for pre-training and fine-tuning generative deep learning models.
Oversee and guide junior team members while actively engaging in hands-on work and showcasing robust programming skills.
Collaborate with scientific leadership to define and implement the strategy for their AI/ML-empowered platform technologies.
Skillset:
Ph.D. in computational, physical sciences or a quantitative discipline
Minimum of 3 years’ experience applying computational methods to scientific applications (knowledge of drug discovery is advantageous).
Proficiency in developing and programming machine-learning methods.
Hands-on experience in Python, R, C++, and a familiarity with machine learning tools and prevailing deep learning architectures.
Expertise in working with large and diverse datasets.
Strong coding skills, showcasing the ability to create innovative AI/ML applications.
Previous experience leading cross-functional or direct teams.
Excellent communication skills, with the capability to convey complex concepts to non-programming audiences.
