Reports to: Principal

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Teach middle school (grades 6-8) English Language Arts using the intended curriculum.
Assess proficiency and adjust teaching to meet students where they currently are and bring them up to grade level standards.
Build meaningful relationships with students.
Collaborate with staff PreK-8 to create a culture of learning.
Develop students' love of learning.
Maintain open lines of communication with families.
Use research based instructional strategies.
Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Valid Teaching License for the state of Nebraska.
A demonstrated philosophy that all children can learn.
A demonstrated philosophy that teachers are the drivers of learning.
Working with, understanding, and respecting the diverse population of our community.
The willingness and ability to strive to grow in the profession.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Education with an endorsement in appropriate areas.
