Position Summary:
Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School [ RWJMS ] is seeking a dynamic, full time Director of Emergency General Surgery [ EGS ] who will also serve as Program Director of the Acute Care Surgery Fellowship.
The EGS Director will work closely with the Division Chief of Acute Care Surgery to oversee all operations of EGS at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital [ RWJUH ] as well as serve as Site Director of EGS at RWJUH – Somerset. The EGS director will work alongside thirteen acute care surgeons. Responsibilities include oversight of operational, strategic, and administrative tasks including but not limited to quality improvement initiatives, patient education, curriculum development, and enhancement of policies, procedures, and workflows to improve efficiency and outcomes of the EGS service line. In addition, the new director will work closely with the Div. Chief of ACS to obtain and maintain new ACS AAST EGS Verification.
