Job description
Meiogenix is seeking a highly motivated and talented Research Scientist with a strong background in molecular biology and expertise in meiosis, epigenetics and/or plant biology. As a key member of our research team, you will play a pivotal role in our mission to develop sustainable and enhanced crops to meet the growing global demand for food and agriculture solutions.
Our vision for agriculture is to bring back the diversity in complex traits that has been lost during intensive breeding. We use a combination of AI, chromosome editing, and advanced breeding technologies to unlock the unexplored genetic diversity of plants. Meiogenix aims to develop products that address the global food security, pre-adapt crops to climate change, and eliminate the use of harmful chemicals.
Qualifications:
· Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Plant Science, or a related field.
· Experience in Epigenetics and/or Plant Science is preferred
· Proficiency in Molecular Biology methods and techniques.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot experimental challenges.
· Strong communication and collaboration skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct biological research in the area of molecular and cell biology.
· Develop and optimize protocols and techniques.
· Contribute to the design and implementation of innovative solutions for improvement of current methods.
· Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to analyze and interpret experimental data.
· Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in plant genetics and molecular biology.
· Ensuring regular communication of research progress with team members and company leadership.
· Meticulously maintaining detailed records of experimental details, project data and all necessary documentation.
